10 Things To Do When You're Bored

made for your attention span: 4 minute read

Is it summertime yet and are you bored? Don’t worry, I got you. Being bored can actually be the perfect time to try something new, relax, or finally do the things you’ve been putting off. Here are 10 things to do when you’re bored.

1. Do the most important tasks

Do you need to clean the house, take out your dog, study, organize your room, or even work out? Do it now… like right now. If you do the hardest things first and then move on to the fun things, it’ll save you time and take the pressure off yourself later. Plus, once everything is done, you can actually relax without thinking about what you still need to do.

2. Go online window shopping

Window shopping is honestly so fun. You get to find your style and look at super cute clothes, shoes, jewelry, room decor, or random things you suddenly decide you need. If you have money, you can buy them, but if not… you can dream and make a wishlist for later.

3. Do something creative

Paint, draw, journal, write stories, make jewelry, decorate your room, or even try making digital art. Doing something creative can make time go by really fast, and sometimes you end up making something you’re actually proud of. You don’t even have to be “good” at it — just have fun.

4. Make a playlist

Make a playlist for literally anything: summer vibes, getting ready, studying, rainy days, late-night drives, or songs that make you feel like the main character. Finding new music and organizing songs can be weirdly satisfying.

5. Play a game

You can play video games, Roblox, Minecraft, Sims, card games, or phone games. Games are even better when you play with friends because everything turns into chaos and fun really fast.

6. Bake or cook something

Try making cookies, brownies, cupcakes, smoothies, ramen hacks, or a recipe you saw online. Even if it doesn’t turn out perfect, it’s still fun to try and you get something to snack on after.

7. Start a business

You can sell bracelets, clothes, digital art, lashes, lip gloss, stickers, or anything you’re good at making. A lot of businesses start from boredom and a simple idea that turns into something real.

8. Start a blog

Starting a blog is really fun. You can write about fashion, music, school, movies, life, or random thoughts. It’s your own space on the internet where you can just be creative and express yourself.

9. Watch a new movie or show

Instead of rewatching the same thing for the 10th time, try something new. You might end up finding your new favorite show or movie without even expecting it.

10. Scroll on Pinterest

Pinterest is full of inspiration. Outfit ideas, room decor, hairstyles, recipes, wallpapers, and motivation all in one place. You go on for “five minutes” and suddenly it’s been an hour.

ending:

Being bored isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes it’s actually the perfect opportunity to relax, reset, and discover new hobbies or interests. You never know — one random thing you decide to try when you’re bored could turn into something you really love.
